Tom Rodriguez

2005 Update

Tom Rodriguez is a 37 year-old Hispanic male born in Muleshoe, Texas. After graduating from an inner city high school in Houston Texas, Mr. Rodriguez obtained BSN and MSN degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. This was no small accomplishment for Tom; neither of his parents had attended school beyond the elementary grade level, having to go to work to help support their families. Wanting more for their children, they encouraged Tom and all his siblings to obtain schooling beyond high school. By 1992, all six of their children had matriculated in institutions of higher learning.

Currently, Mr. Rodriguez is pursuing a Doctor of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. During his doctoral education, Tom also became a certified adult nurse practitioner which combined with his certification as a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist provides him with excellent credentials for providing primary mental health services. He is currently in his fourth year of study and is diligently working to complete his dissertation research, "The Effect of Thyroxine and Triiodothyronine on Fatigue, Symptoms of Depression, and Memory in a Hypothyroid Population," a clinical trail funded by the University of Texas Clinical Research Center.

August 2005

Dr. Tom Rodriguez joined the faculty at Texas Woman’s University at Denton as Assistant Professor.
