New SAMHSA Office of Applied Studies (OAS) Reports


SAMHSA's Office of Applied Studies (OAS) has just released the following reports on the web. These SAMHSA OAS reports were released today at the National Inhalant Prevention Coalition (NIPC) press briefing as part of National Inhalants & Poisons Awareness Week:

(1) The NSDUH Report: Inhalant Use across the Adolescent Years, a 3 page short report, based on SAMHSA's National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), focuses on variations in inhalant use among adolescents aged 12 to 17 by detailed ages as well as the use of specific inhalants among new users.

(2) The DASIS Report: Adolescent Admissions Reporting Inhalants, 2006, a 3 page short report, based on SAMHSA’s Drug and Alcohol Services Information System (DASIS, provides the following information on treatment admissions aged 12 to 17 who reported inhalant use: demographics, co-occurring disorder, source of referral, service setting, and health insurance.
