The AAN 2010 Awards season is here! The Academy’s Awards provide you with a mechanism to honor your colleagues.

Living Legends
The Living Legends award recognizes outstanding Fellows as reminders of the proud history of nursing and as extraordinary role models. The award submission deadline is Friday, May 21, 2010.

Honorary Fellows
Honorary Fellows are individuals recognized by the Academy who are not eligible for regular fellowship (non-nurses). These individuals will be recognized for making outstanding contributions to health care and/or nursing. The award submission deadline is Friday, May 21, 2010.

Nurse Leader in Aging Award
In partnership with the John A Hartford Foundation, the AAN established this award in 2006. The award’s focus is leadership and significant accomplishments, contributions, productivity, competence and mentorship in the field of aging and gerontological nursing. The award submission deadline is Friday, May 14, 2010.

Also, applications for the 2010-2011 IOM Nurse Scholar-in-Residence are now being accepted. Sponsored by AAN, ANA and ANF the IOM Nurse Scholar-in-Residence provides the individual with a year-long leadership opportunity in health policy at the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies (IOM). It is designed as an immersion experience to facilitate nurse leaders engaging in a prominent role in health policy development at the national level and their interaction with other health fellows and scholars.
