Graduating MFP Fellows for FY 2006 – 2007 (9/05/07)
Lois Bolden, PhD, RN, APRN,BC
Dr. Lois Bolden graduated December 2006 from the University of Tennessee, Memphis Health Science Center. She was the recipient of the UT Memphis 2005 – 2006 Excellence in Teaching Award. Dr. Bolden was also one of the instructors that delivered the convocation speech during the UT Memphis College of Nursing graduation. Her dissertation research focuses on “Comparison of Depression, Anxiety, Hazardous Drinking, Subjective Burden, and Caregiver Rewards in African American and Caucasian Family Caregivers of Patients with Chronic Liver Disease.”
In March 2007, Dr. Bolden accepted a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Virgin Island, St. Thomas.
Michelle Hampton, PhD, MS, RN,CS
Dr. Michelle Hampton graduated May 2007 from the University of California, San Francisco. Her dissertation research focuses on “Racial Disparities in Health Service Utilization for Individuals with Severe mental Illness.”
Ella Scott, PhD, APRN,BC, CNS
Dr. Ella Scott graduated June 2007 from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. Her dissertation research focuses on “The Mental Health Experiences of Adolescents of Color in Foster Care.”
Dr. Scott will present her research findings during the 6th World Congress on Stress, in Vienna Austria and the 19th World Congress of the World Association for Social Psychiatry in Prague, Czech Republic. Both of these meetings are in October 2007.
