OMH Kicks Off Fourth Annual Take a Loved One for a Checkup Day

Deputy Assistant Secretary for Minority Health Garth Graham, MD, MPH, announced (9/20/05) the kick off of this year's campaign to reduce health disparities affecting racial and ethnic minorities by encouraging individuals to go to a health professional for a health screening as part of "Take a Loved One for a Checkup Day."

"Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the people of the Gulf Region," said Dr. Graham. "As we mobilize to respond to the needs of communities displaced by Hurricane Katrina and help them rebuild, it's also important that we continue our efforts to improve the health of racial and ethnic minorities across the nation."
