Mayola Rowser Elected to Mental Health Board
Dr. Mayola Rowser, a PhD student at the University of Tennessee, Memphis has been elected to the Board of Mental Health Association of Vanderburgh County, Indiana. This county board is an affiliate of the State and National Mental Health Associations and serves three counties in southern Indiana.
In her role as board member, Dr. Rowser will be in a position to influence policy, network with county officials about budget allocations for existing and new programs, and help with designing strategies that address stigma that is associated with mental illness. Dr. Rowser’s work is an example of the responsibilities and expectations that the fellowship encourages and embraces. Being an advocate for the mentally ill is an awesome privilege that requires dedication and experience. Dr. Rowser evidences both of these key elements. Congratulations!
