2004 National Conference on Health Care and Domestic Violence (4/27/04)
The 2004 National Conference on Health Care and Domestic Violence, sponsored by the Family Violence Prevention Fund (FVPF), will be held October 22-23 in Boston, MA. The conference will focus on identifying and responding to domestic violence to assist health care providers from the pediatric and family physician settings in addressing adult and childhood domestic victimization.
FVPF has developed a Power Point presentation of the most relevant research on family violence and implications for select public health programs, recommended clinical and policy strategies for responding, and promising practices, resources, and tools from around the country. An award-winning video is also available, which offers health care providers crucial information and step-by-step guidance in five different settings domonstrating screening, identifying and helping prevent family violence in addition to techniques on helping patients who disclose abuse.
