Council on Social Work Education Hosts MFP Spring Meeting
The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Minority Fellowship Program (MFP) hosted the spring MFP Directors meeting, June 18, 2008 in Alexandria, VA. Participants included all the core mental health professions: Council on Social Work Education, the American Nurses Association, American Psychology Association, American Psychiatric Association, and Marriage and Family Therapy.
Other guests included the program staff from the American Sociological Association’s Minority Affairs and the American Political Science Association’s Minority Initiatives.
Topics ranged from diversity in science, to legislative updates and funding, to the SAMHSA proposed MFP Coordinating Center.
Many good ideas and best practices were shared. Nursing MFP agreed to host the next meeting at the ANA headquarters in late summer or early fall 2008.
