Rosa Cruz Kauffman, BSN, RN, currently works as part of a Crisis Stabilization Unit and teaches Spanish at a local Charter school. Her nursing experience includes work in the cardiovascular surgical intensive care unit (CVICU) and inpatient acute psychiatry.
Mrs. Cruz Kauffman earned her BSN at Georgia State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
She is pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing - Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program. (PMHNP) at the University of Colorado Denver. She plans to work with youth with substance abuse issues and young LGBTQ populations, with a special focus on the minority population within these groups. She is a native Spanish speaker and will use this skill to reach the local underserved Hispanic community.
She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA).
