Bridgette Brawner, PhDc, APRN successfully defended her dissertation proposal, “Depression and HIV Risk-Related Sexual Behaviors among African American Adolescent Females,” on December 10, 2007. Ms. Brawner attributes the fact that she “passed with no revisions” to her chair, Dr. Christopher L. Coleman, a former SAMHSA EMFP/ANA Fellow.

Bridgette Carter, RN is the Planning Committee Chair, "Meeting of the Minds: Where Research Meets the Community," a Symposium on HIV and AIDS on June 16 in Philadelphia, PA. Ms. Carter has also been selected as a 2006 – 2007 Penn-Hampton Scholar. This program is designed from a partnership between the University of Pennsylvania and Hampton University to develop minority scientist interested in health disparities research.
