Mayola Rowser, PhD, DNP, CNS, FNP-BC, PMHNP holds an associate’s degree from the University of Evansville; bachelor and master’s degrees from the University of Southern Indiana; and Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner certificates and Doctor of Nursing Practice, and PhD degrees, all from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). She holds certifications and licenses from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Indiana State Board of Nursing, and the Indiana Controlled Substance Regulation.
Rowser previously served the College of Nursing and Health Professions as assistant dean and chair of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program, assistant professor of nursing, and as project coordinator, project director, and principal investigator for a Health Resource Services Administration grant.
She is the 2005 recipient of the Academic Excellence and Community Service Award from UTHSC, the 2003 recipient of the Distinguished Nursing Alumni Award from USI’s College of Nursing and Health Professions, and a 2002 recipient of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Minority Fellowship at the American Nurses Association. She holds professional memberships in various organizations; has been published in numerous journals and publications; and is a regular presenter at regional, national, and international conferences and events. She also has been instrumental in securing numerous grants for USI.
