Coretta M. Jenerette

Coretta Jenerette, PhD, RN, CNE, FAAN, earned her PhD in the Philosophy of Nursing Science at the University of South Carolina in June 2004. Dr. Jenerette's research focuses on a theoretical model, The Theory of Self-Care Management for Vulnerable Populations with a sample of adults with sickle cell disease. Additionally, she plans to examine depression and mental health among this vulnerable population and develop a program of research to assist in improving their health status and quality of life.

Dr. Jenerette received her BSN from Clemson University and MSN in Adult Clinical Nursing from the University of South Carolina. Her professional experiences are in hematology, oncology, and medical-surgical nursing. Dr. Jenerette is an Advanced Certified Oncology Nurse and is president-elect of the Pee Dee Oncology Nursing Society. Her professional associations include the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau, and the South Carolina League for Nursing.

Currently, Dr. Jenerette is a Professor and Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity at the University of South Carolina College of Nursing.
